Well it seems like the time has just flown by but it is officially time for us to leave Ireland. We have had more fun than we ever would have thought. Made great friends, saw amazing sights and even found some time to play some music. Special thanks to the Henry girls Dad, Joe, and Eilish and Greta at the Gallan House. Without them we would be totally lost in life. We are looking forward to a jam packed week in Scotland. Check Brookfield Knights for our schedule.

Thanks to all the rowdy folks who came out to Derry last night at Sandinos. We had a blast and hope we get to come back and play some time soon. What an amazing town with an amazing story. Maybe next time we will try to play in the room that has a beer vending machine.

So we’ve been many places, seen many things and played for quite a few new folks all without a single post. We’ve honestly been so busy with rehearsing, performing and adventuring that we haven’t had much time to lounge around and add to the ever growing world-wide web, but our luck has changed and here you have it post number 2.
We spent the whole first week working out a set of tunes with the Henry Girls (www.thehenrygirls.com) that we’ll hopefully get recorded at some point. There’s talk of doing a live CD or digital single from the show this coming Thursday night. Hopefully that will all pan out. We’ll be playing several shows with them coming up as a part of the Earagail Arts Festival (www.eaf.com)
We also did our first string of Scottish gigs with Brookfield Knights (www.brookfield-knights.com) and they’ve all been wonderful. The audiences here are close listeners, but we’ve been doing our best to adapt, them.
While in Scotland last, we performed in towns and cities of drastically different sizes and shapes. We saw cities and country side, adventured castles, climbed monuments and traveled on a boat that rides almost on top the water, but despite it all, our driver/tour manager Gerry managed to get us out and back to Ireland alive and unscathed. Here’s a link to an article about our performance in Sterling, http://www.heraldscotland.com/arts-ents/stage-visual-arts/the-fox-hunt-tolbooth-stirling-1.1038651
We’re back near the beach now in Malin and we’re relaxing, rehearsing and looking forward to a great string of Irish gigs starting in Derry tomorrow night.
For a full list of gigs you can check out http://www.brookfield-knights.com/up-coming-tours.html
Here are a few pics. Wish you could see them all, these places are truly beautiful.

Here's a good shot of Matt jamming with the local color in Cork.

Wal Mart has made it to Scotland and it's name is Asda

Here's a shot of the beach from a hill right outside of Malin where we're spending most of our time.

Edinburgh from atop the Sir Walter Scott Monument. There are tons of good ones from Edinburgh. This was the hardest to snap through sheer acrophobia.

We fit 5 people and all our instruments in the back of a Kia people carrier coming back from Larne to Malin.

So we made it over to Ireland and we’re getting some breakfast and getting ready to do some rehearsing with the Henry Girls. Nothing like 25 hours of straight traveling to get you ready to play some tunes. We’re going to try to do a good bit of web posting while we’re over here whenever we can get to the internet. Hope everyone is well at home. Keep us posted here or on our Facebook as to what’s going on over our way and we’ll do the same.

Ben was worried his banjo would never make it across the ocean. Luckily everything came out OK on the other side.

Here's a good shot of John crashing out waiting for the train from Dublin up to LetterKinney. This is pretty well how we were all feeling by this point of the trip. Not much sleeping on Aer Lingus flight 108.

And we made it. Here's all of us with the Henry Girls outside of the van we'll be traveling around in.

We are super excited to be heading to Smoked Country Jam tomorrow. It is for a great cause and is truley a great time. Had a blast last year and I’m sure this year will beat it. It should be the perfect send off. We head straight from there to the airport and will be in Ireland and Scotland for about a month. For a complete list of shows overseas check the Brookfield Knights web page. They are doing great things and it is a great honor to get to work with them. We will try to update the webpage with exciting news and pics from abroad. Cheers!

We are playing a set on Friday night and probably just hanging out after that. There will be a number of WV legends there so come check them out too.

Heading to Elkins tonight to play at El Gran Sabor. This is some of the best food in all of WV. Frostburg tomorrow, Sharpsburg Saturday and Lock Haven PA on Saturday. If you love Bens hair be sure to come out this weekend because he is donating it to Locks of Love Sunday.

We are home for about a month and a half. Thanks to all the kind folks fed us, lodged us, listened to us, hacked with us… The tour went pretty well with only minor bumps and bruises along the way. Nothing a bit of fresh fruits and vegetables cant heal. When I say we are home I mean we are home during the weeks. We still have a bunch of shows this month including the Gays Mills Folk Festival in Wisconsin this weekend. We are looking forward to a folkin it up in the Badger State. Come up or hit us up while we are home.

We saw some of the craziest weather we have ever seen today. Funnel clouds and hail. Every thing but frogs and locust. We are lucky to still be here. Last night was a fun one in Tulsa. Thanks to all who came out. We had a rowdy time despite the 3.2% alcohol beer. Little Rock was also quite a party the night before at the Legendary Whitewater Tavern. Thanks to Drew for the place to stay in Little Rock. And thanks to the scenic RV park in Tulsa. Never had a more natural view of a major highway. Last but not least, we hit up the best BBQ sandwich joint in the known world. We found it accidentally in Alma, AR. Check it out if you ever get the chance, highway 40 exit 13.

We had a great picture of our server Kasey with our sandwiches but when we told her we were going to put it up on our website she seemed a bit apprehensive. Don't think she knew what kind of a site we were running. Anyway, here's the ficade.

There's only one thing to do in Metropolis Il and sure enough Metz did it.

What does a Texas Tornado and a West Virginia divorce have in common?

Thanks to all the good folks who came out to the Acoustic Coffeehouse last night. We had a great time and made some new friends. The band has taken up Hackey Sacking and if you know anything about us we have taken it up pretty hard. Besides music and beer its the only thing we think about. We are gonna be updating yall with pics and vids from the tour and we are gonna try to do it daily so keep an eye on our site for constant debauchery and antics updates. Thanks to Momma Townsend for the camera. Here’s a taste…

Success, buying 3 hackey sacks at "A Little Bit Hippie" in Roanoke, VA. Now we've got backup if Ben kicks another one onto a Chevron roof along the way.

Thanks to Dooley for putting us up in his Johnson City Palace last night. Nothing but milk, honey, and cornhole for us today.

Big thanks to everyone who came out to the Colonel Records Winter Ramble. We had a great time and hardly got in any band brawls at all. It was great to get some of that southern hospitality and avoid all this snow for a while. We are gearing up this week for our CD release party at the Blue Moon in Shepherdstown WV on Sat Feb 20th. Greg Berry, a Skull City legend, will be opening up for us and we are all super excited for that.
